A Laval man says he was the victim of racial profiling earlier this year when officers allegedly stopped him randomly before handing him hundreds of dollars in fines. Black Montrealer says police racial profiling cost him his job

Carl Luberisse didn't anticipate a short drive to the depanneur would lead to racial profiling, hundreds of dollars in fines and the loss of his job. While on a lunch break this September from his job as a forklift driver at Bveggie in Laval, the 41-year-old decided to get chips at the nearest convenience store. On his way back, Luberisse said, he was parking his car when police stopped him and demanded to see his identification.  Read More
Man says stop by Laval police was racial profiling, files complaint

A Black man who was stopped by Laval police in September is saying he was racially profiled. On September 13, Carl Luberisse was heading to work at a warehouse, where he drove a forklift. He noticed a police car pull a U-turn to follow him. “You have my car, two other cars behind me, and then after, it’s them. No lights, no nothing,” said Luberisse.  Read More
