Family says police slow to investigate alleged racial attack near Montreal

A Montreal-area mother is expressing rage and horror about an alleged racially motivated attack against her 18-year-old daughter and three other young women. Lyndia Barthold says the four women were sitting in a parked car in Terrebonne, north of Montreal, when a man started swinging an axe at a closed window and screaming racial slurs. She claims Terrebonne police initially did not take the case seriously because the victims are black.  Read More

A group of young Black women is accusing police in Terrebonne, north of Montreal, of racism after officers allegedly took weeks to investigate an incident against them. The night of Nov. 21, a hooded white man allegedly approached the three young adult women and a minor in a vehicle and uttered death threats and racial slurs, and shattered their car window with an axe.  Read More

Les policiers viennent d’arrêter l’homme qui vit dans leur quartier et l’ont relâché sous conditions dans l’attente des procédures judiciaires.
