Gatineau man alleges he was beaten by police, racially profiled by CATSA at Edmonton International Airport

A Gatineau man is alleging he was beaten by RCMP officers and racially profiled by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) at the Edmonton International Airport in April. Chrislain Eric Kenfack has filed a human rights complaint against the RCMP and CATSA alleging he was mistreated by officials at the airport following a secondary inspection while he was returning to Ottawa.  Read More

Two Black Montreal firefighters say they've faced years of racist abuse from their colleagues, and they now believe it will take outside action to change the culture of the city's fire department. On Tuesday, a Montreal anti-racism group said it has filed a complaint with Quebec's human rights commission on behalf of the two firefighters, seeking an external investigation of racism in the department — and $40,000 in damages for each of them.  Read More
